Chocolate Buttercream Frosting | Recipe



HEY GUYS!

I'm sharing the recipe for a chocolate buttercream frosting that I made to ice this cake. It was my first time making it and I loved it so much. This cake was very chocolate-y a more apt name for this cake would have been death by chocolate cake.

BUTTERCREAM FROSTING RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

  • butter (room temperature) - 1 cup
  • vanilla essence - 1 tbsp
  • icing sugar - 4 cups
  • cocoa powder - 1/3 cup
  • melted chocolate - 1/3 cup
  • water

DIRECTIONS:

  • take a bowl and whip the butter and vanilla on high speed for three minutes
  • then add half of the icing sugar (2 cups) and about 1/8 cup water and whip for three more minutes
  • add the remaining icing sugar and whip for five minutes more
  • whip till the icing looks light and airy
  • add the cocoa powder and melted chocolate to the mixture and whip for three minutes more
  • if the icing is too thick add more water
*The longer you whip the icing the fluffier it will be. If you want to make your icing thinner or thicker adjust the water amount to your suiting.
